Claverton Planning

The Parish Council has a Planning Committee to discuss planning applications and associated issues, such as Listed Building Consent and Tree Preservation Orders, affecting the Parish area. ThePlanning Committee comprises the Chairman of the Parish Council (ex officio) and three members of the Parish Council.

The Planning Committee considers, and may respond on behalf of the Parish Council to, all applications for planning permission and planning appeals submitted to the Parish Council by the Local Planning Authority (B&NES). All planning policy issues are the subject of recommendations from the Planning Committee to the Parish Council. Further details on the Planning Committee can be viewed in the Terms of Reference. Any planning queries should be directed to the clerk ( clavertonpc@gmail.com).

The proceedings of Planning Committee Meetings can be viewed in the Minutes and representations on planning applications can be viewed on the Claverton Parish section of the B&NES Planning Site.

The set of rules which determines whether a planning application will be decided by the B&NES Development Control Committee or by planning officers, under the delegated powers given to them by the Council, can be viewed in The Scheme of Delegation.

Any Claverton resident can comment on planning applications – details of how to do so are given on the B&NES Planning Site. Current planning applications in the Parish can be viewed on the Claverton Parish section of the B&NES Planning Site and the My Bath & North East Somerset website.
